    just want to know, if I do not have the 5V supply can I use the 9v supply which I have on the 8051 circuit.

    Hey Sanda,

    Always refer the device datasheet to know the absolute maximum ratings.

    For the AT89c51 MCU the maximum voltage on the VCC pin is 6.6V. But it is better to restrict it to only 5V. Use a 7805 IC if you want to use a 9V source.

    Hi Sanda,

    Always try to use 5V with digital ICs including microcontroller.

    You should always use 5v as input. Use a LM7805 voltage regulator for this purpose
