with 89S52 its bit little harder to do that but still you can do

first connect TSOP on bread board and give it 5 V supply. connect its output to ann CRO or DSO

now press buttons from remote control and observe bit pattern in DSO. from 1’s and 0’s try to identify pattern and code. refer literature on NEC remote control and try to make algorithm to decode bit pattern
