which crystal u hv used?
12 MHz crystal will not work here
for serial communication using 8051 u must use 11.059 MHz crystal
first make ur basic circuit of 8051.
connect its Tx and Rx with PCs Rx n Tx
now try to send data from hyper terminal and receiver it using 8051.
if this works perfect then there should not be any problem further
