when you pressed character from terminal window and restart your board..does that character echo back????
if yes then bootloader of your controller is ok… if not
remove serial cable from board &
then short pin 2 and 3 of your serial cable and try to send character from terminal if it echo back then your cable is ok…
if cable is fine and controllers bootloader seems to be damaged you need to change controller.
