well, to begin with i have been using ir sensors which i myself made.
and secondly the max range that i could obtain was about 2inches or so in a dark room, although the range varied depending upon the lighting conditions.
my main concern is regarding sensitivity not range as at present my sole purpose is to use them for line dectection only(#line-follorwer-bot).
