Standard Second Order Equation for Step Input

I have taken Step Input because G(s)=a/(s0)(s+a)


> S0 means Step Input

 

comparing above two equations…

 

Time Constant (T)= (1/ ??n)

 

?n= ?a rad/sec.

 

2??n= 1 or

 

?= 1/2(?a)

 

so Time Constant(T)=0.5
