You can do one thing. See what data RFID reader is transmitting on Hyperterminal. If its receiving data properly on Hyperterminal, the issue is with LPC 2148 side. Make sure you have properly configured BAUDRATE of LPC2148.
It will be nice if you can post snapshot of data received on Hyperterminal.
