for interfaceing GSM and PIC16F877A, there is no need for RS232, u can directly connected,

 

GSM TX(5V)- PIC RX pin

GSM RX(5V)- PIC TX pin

 

RS232 is used for interfacing PC and serial devices(  GSM, RFID, BLUETOOTH,GPS,etc,.)
