Firstly, you should know is a straight through cable with DTE and DCE equivalent. The female is connceted to the male in a form of cross intersection, it’s numbered from 1 through 9 and its operation 2&3(DTE)<> is changed to 3&2(DCE), 4&6(DTE)<> is changed to 6&4(DCE) and likewise 7&8.  Hope it helps.
