i am working on my FYP , that contains 9 resistive type sensors, 5 contact sensor and 2 accelerometers. total 16 sensonrs i have to use. according to the output of sensors , have to make comparsion and result is given to some disply . also a text to speech converter is used. now i am confused in taking either microcontroller or micro processor. kindly help m out
Hi Khatri,
Select any microcontroller with enough IO pins and a high speed CPU. I recommend ARM based microcontrollers like ARM9 or ARM11.
Thank you , i will go 4 that
Hi Ajish
U have suggested me to use ARM for my project. Can i ask Y this? Y not atmegaxx?
Basically our project is gesture recognization, which will convert the sign of alphabets into text and sound. I know ARM is a goog for it but i have to justfy other. If i can do the same work via Atmegaxx then y i going to ARM. We have to keep it cost effective. the block Diagram is given in previous post. there are 9 flex sensor, 2 acelerometer and 4 contact sensors. plz help in selection of microcontroller.
looking forward for your reply
Hi Kahtri,
I think Dishant’s reply on slecting the ARM is good enough for you to convince others.
Hi,
For this project, I would also suggest to gor for ARM9 or ARM11. Well the reason for this is, more I/O Pins and communication PORTS.
The best way to deal with this much complex circuit is to boot LINUX on ARM9 board and use drivers available and develop the entire sytem within few days (if you are good at LINUX).
All the best.
One beautiful opion is PSOC from CYPRESS. This one is amazing one. You can think once on this option.
